As luck would have it, most people never grasp a true expression of love. It can be a hasty glance. A brush of fingertips that grace lightly across the skin. At best, passing closely but not too close. It is like a dance where both the lovers are one step out of time from each other. Within the same circle but never allowed to touch.
Familiar love and security both fleeting. Seeking out solace and a place to lay your head on the days when the charade just becomes too much to bear. The restless heart. Wanderlust spills from the moon as we tuck our dreams out of sight, night after night after night.
If only our souls could touch just once.
I had two different guys at two different times look at me with such love and devotion and tell me the exact same thing, "if he ever hurts you, I will be here for you." In hindsight, it should have been a HUGE wake-up call not to marry the guy in question, and to take a second look at the guys on the periphery who only wanted to protect me.
ReplyDeleteThere are people who go their whole lives being in love with someone else and not until it is all said & done does anyone ever know.
DeleteLove is definitely not for the faint at heart. I cannot believe some people settle for what they think is love without ever truly knowing it.
There are people who yearn and ache for just the kindest words and people see it on their faces from across a room but to the people involved it is invisible.
Sometimes Fate is a Bitch.
and we asked you twice if you wanted to REALLY, REALLY, REALLY MARRY HIM. You said "I guess so." :-P
